The Course

Set along Portugal's Atlantic coastline, Troia Golf is one of Europe's premier championship courses. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., it is known for its narrow fairways, strategic bunkering, and demanding coastal winds.
For JAGA student-athletes, Troia offers a true championship test and valuable international experience in a globally respected high-performance environment.
Carved into the sand dunes of the Tróia peninsula, just south of Lisbon and reachable by a short ferry across the Sado estuary, the course threads between umbrella pines and the ocean. The firm, fast turf and ever-present sea breeze demand creativity, shot-shaping, and composure — the kind of conditions that sharpen a young player's command of the ball and reward disciplined course management.
Beyond the course, Portugal places our student-athletes at the heart of European golf. A central time zone, a temperate year-round climate, and a packed regional tournament calendar give JAGA students consistent competition against strong international fields — invaluable preparation for collegiate and professional pathways, the JAGA-Way.
Academic Partnership
Troia is also home to Edge Golf College, with whom JAGA is partnering to offer university-level courses in partnership with the University of Lancashire — giving student-athletes a direct route into accredited higher education alongside their golf development.
